The short version
This site is a personal portfolio for my AI-consulting work. I collect as little personal data as I can get away with - basically only what you give me on the contact form. I don't sell data, I don't run advertising trackers, and I don't ship anything to third parties beyond what's strictly needed to deliver the site and reply to you.

What I collect
Contact form: your name, email, optional company, the service category you picked, and your message. Submitted only when you press "Send".
Technical data: IP address and user-agent string at the moment you submit the form (used for abuse prevention and audit logs).
Server logs: standard request logs (path, status code, timestamp) retained briefly for operations and security.
Cookies: a session cookie for the admin login area and a small preference cookie for language and theme. No advertising or analytics cookies.
How I use it
To reply to your message and discuss a potential engagement.
To keep the site working and secure.
To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting) once an engagement starts.
Legal basis
Under GDPR (EU/Germany), I rely on: your consent (you sent me the message), legitimate interest (running and securing the site), and contractual necessity (once we work together).
Who else sees it
The site runs on infrastructure I operate. Email is delivered through IONOS (Germany). Form submissions are stored in a MongoDB database I administer. I do not share your data with marketers or data brokers. If a legal authority compels disclosure, I'll comply with the minimum required and notify you when allowed.
How long I keep it
Contact form submissions: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless we have entered into a project relationship. Server logs: typically 30-90 days. Cookies: as configured by your browser (session cookies expire on close).
Your rights
You can ask me to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data I hold about you, and to restrict or object to certain processing. Email elie.bitar@eb-net.org with your request - I aim to respond within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). Admin access requires authentication. No system is perfectly secure - if I become aware of a breach affecting your data, I will notify you in line with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
If I make material changes, I'll update the date above and, where appropriate, highlight the change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
